Would you like to improve your English language skills in a fun, relaxed environment? The Graded Readers program offered by the LRC is a no pressure way to practice your reading comprehension and spoken English.
Choose from dozens of classic and contemporary English books conveniently labeled with level of difficulty, catering to beginners to advanced learners. Students who participate will take an online test to rank their reading ability, tailoring the experience to their own level. Each book is equipped with a glossary for unfamiliar vocabulary, audio, in-book activities, and comprehension tests.
This program is an excellent supplement to any field of study. Graded Readers can effectively help English learners to improve English reading skills, build vocabulary, strengthen grammar, and eventually improve writing skills.
An LRC intern will be around to assist any students participating in the program, facilitate discussion, or help with comprehension. This native English speaker will be on duty Monday and Friday at the 2nd floor Book Club Corner. The program will start Monday, April 12th and run through Thursday, June 3rd.
