The Learning Resource Centre and the English Language Centre are excited to jointly introduce the 2nd UIC MyET English Speaking Contest which will run from Tuesday, February 28th, 00:00 to Wednesday, March 15th, 14:00.

My English Tutor (MyET) is one of the best software for learning to speak English in the market and the LRC has subscriptions to more than 40 courses in MyET, for example, BBC News, CNN News Listening, IELTS, TOEFL and MBA English series.

This contest utilizes MyET’s unique and award winning technology, which is the “Automatic Speech Analysis System (ASAS©)” to analyze your English speech recordings from pre-determined text on pronunciation, pitch, timing and emphasis.

For practice purposes, you can visit the lab at ELC (ask your ELC teachers for details), or see a reference librarian at the LRC.
