In view of the recent downgrade of the pandemic alert level, the Learning Resource Centre has revised its service arrangement after appropriate reporting and preparation. Starting Thursday, May 28th2020, LRC will be open to UIC staff and students under the following conditions complying with government requirements:
Library Opening Hours:
Monday to Friday | 9am to 5pm (closed 12noon to 1pm for disinfection) |
Saturday, Sunday & Public holiday | Closed |
Open Areas (limited capacity):
Library stacks, studying desks, computer workstations & printing/photocopying.
Eligible Users:
UIC staff members and returning students who have registered with SAO to return to campus. Please bring along your UIC valid photo identification card for verification.
Health Protection Measures:
A security checkpoint has been set up at the front of the LRC to measure users’ temperature and to verify their UIC valid photo identification cards.
Users are reminded to wear a face mask at all times when they are in the library building.
Please queue according to indicators on the floor, sit on unmarked seats and observe social distancing.
Always disinfect your hands with alcohol based sanitizer before touching books, equipment, or any other facilities. Maintain hand hygiene at all times.
Do not reshelve books after reading, simply place books on nearby book carts and we will collect and disinfect them before returning them to the shelves.
Never leave your personal belongings in the library overnight as they can be damaged by disinfectant sprays. The LRC is not responsible for any loss or damage to personal property.

Please also note that books borrowed in the 1st semester of 2019-2020 and thereafter will be extended to September 2020. By connecting to the College’s Cisco VPN service, UIC staff and students have access to our broad array of electronic resources anytime and anywhere.
