Today's Hours: Closed

In 2025, all BNBUers witnessed the University's growth and milestones:

In March, the University was officially renamed to Beijing Normal–Hong Kong Baptist University; and in November, the 20th Anniversary Celebration was held. In this year of great significance, the Learning Resource Centre, along with BNBU, continued to grow with renewed vitality.

Throughout the year, the library welcomed over 580,000 visits, December being the month with the highest number with over 100,000.

A series of academic AI search tools were introduced, along with AI workshops for first-year students.

Additionally, the BNBU shadow puppetry tradition was preserved and promoted through the themed exhibition "Stories in Shadow Puppetry".

The Centre actively participated in the development of the BNBU archival system, organizing and documenting the University's twenty-year journey of growth and development.

Now, let us explore these changes and achievements through a set of real and detailed data.

Thanks to the Learning Resource Center for providing us with such a valuable competition opportunity! MET's assessment system has a variety of functions and modes for us to practice and improve our intonation, pronunciations and fluency. In particular, the real-time scoring function allows us to clearly see which consonant/vowel of our pronunciations is not standard, and then correct and train again. I hope that I will keep using MET more in my future studies to practice and improve my oral English!

During the preparation period, I wore headphones and repeatedly polished the recordings. These moments without spotlight but full of ceremony constitute my most precious language learning memories of 2025.

Special thanks to the event platform for building this competitive stage that breaks through time and space limitations, allowing English enthusiasts from all over the world to meet through sound waves; Thank you to the backend teacher for their rigorous and efficient work, from clear schedule guidance to timely recording feedback, every detail has made us feel professional and warm.

Student Assistant's Personal Perspecives

CAI, Wennan
FBM EBIS

Being a student assistant in the library has been one of the warmest experiences of my university life. Whether assisting students with the book borrowing and returning at the Circulation Desk, answering enquiries, or re-shelving books, every little task has made me feel the care and dedication that the library offers.

I am especially grateful to the teachers for their patient guidance, and I deeply appreciate the chance to contribute to this peaceful corner of knowledge alongside my colleagues. For me, the library is more than a workplace, it is a refuge where I can temporarily escape the fatigue of studying and enjoy the companionship of books. In the coming year, I hope to cherish this opportunity and the time I spend here even more, guarding this gentle and meaningful experience with all my heart.

YANG, Yuxuan
FBM ACCT

I have been working in the library for a year, and it has been a gentle and fulfilling journey for me. A calm and grounded joy fills me every time I return disorganized books back to their places or when I efficiently help students check out the books they need.

What touches me most is seeing a new book that I personally cataloged being borrowed. In that moment, I recognised my small but real contribution, shining sincerely within the rhythm of the library. I treasure the feeling of being trusted and needed, and I also cherish the quiet growth I experience among bookshelves.

In the coming year, I hope my meticulous work can bring a little convenience to others through careful and thoughtful actions, and in doing so, to keep ligthing the spark of courage that helps me move forward.

HU, Dongzhi
FST CST

It has been a year since I joined the library student assistant team. My growing affection for the library and my work of book shelving and Circulation services have helped me understand the place more deeply and appreciate it more with each passing day.

To me, working as a library student assistant is not only about providing services to the students, but also about connecting with them through books.

While I am working, the quiet atmosphere often brings a sense of calm to my heart, easing my emotions and helping me find peace. In the future, this welcoming library will continue to guide my growth. I look forward to helping more students find the books and answers they need, while also discovering my own treasures of knowledge along the way.

Looking ahead to 2026,
in response to the fast development of technology and artificial intelligence,
the Learning Resource Centre sees the future as an opportunity to embrace innovation and transformation.
